After the Chicago Sky (9- a six-game losing streak snapped the Indiana Fever 60-57 Tuesday night head coach Pokey Chatman gave another little confidence to some season on the verge:
"Elena Delle Donne will "likely" return July 31 against New York (at Allstate Arena), if her treatments and work outs go well."

Delle Donne was definitely ailing at that time...she was held to only seven points.
Later that week, it was declared that she had been treated for a flareup which she contracted after being bitten by a deer tick at the home of her family in Delaware several years past.
And nevertheless, she is still inspiring folks while fighting with her way back to wellness.
Yesterday, she was to meet at the Dwayne Wade-Brandon Marshall Sports Academy, 'offering her insight on the game with the female basketball campers and what is necessary to make it for a WNBA player.'
Earlier this season, she was awarded the 2014 D cheap nike blazers. womens pink nike blazers.n Staley Community Leadership Award, the best service award in the WNBA, for her work with the Special Olympics, and Lyme Disease research. Laurel Richie, WNBA president, had this to say:
She is a genuine role model in everything that she does."
Delle Donne, in response, posted this
"It's a honor for the Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award. I have always looked up in the community and to Dawn for her achievements on the court. As an athlete, you are given a tremendous platform to use however you pick. By sharing my personal experiences with Lyme disease, as well as my sister Lizzie's challenges, I've had the opportunity to help inspire and educate others to overcome barriers that they are faced with. I am thankful to the WNBA, Special Olympics, Lyme Research Alliance and Trainer Dawn Staley for giving me an avenue off the court to really make a difference."
But her main job continues to be difficult this year.
Why? Credit Delle Donne and Jessica Breland's combination, who came to the Sky in the Indiana Fever this year and is a Hodgkins lymphoma survivor herself.
Breland and Delle Donne reminded me of the old Scottie Pippen -to-Michael Jordan organization. That's how good they were together.
But Breland went down with a r womens red nike blazers.ght leg injury, and since Delle Donne left for treatment, the Sky have endured, going 2- 8 (which was a loss). Before Indiana, their last triumph was a 90-83 victory over Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks on July 1.
She was the top Eastern Conference vote-getter for the All-Star Game, which she missed due to Lyme Disease of this year.
Like Mike?
Delle Donne may not dunk, but she electrifies Allstate Arena. Like Mike, Elena makes players around her better. 2012 All-Star Courtney Vandersloot, another number one draft pick, who appears more cozy when the destiny of the game isn't in her hands. At 6'5, Delle Donne is an easy target for three-time All-Star, 6'6 center Sylvia Fowles. Unlike Mike, though, she's generous with the ball, creating chances for consistent scorers like two-time All-Star Epiphanny Prince.
Like Mike, she can take over a match when necessary. ESPN and Elias Sports Bureau reported the Sky enable 10.3 fewer points in the paint per 40 minutes with Delle Donne on the court.
As much as she can "Be Like Mike," there are a couple of differences.
Unlike Jordan, Delle Donne has had to alternate brilliance while fighting what would seem to be almost insurmountable challenges off-court. Her tight knit family, including a handicapped sister, ended up putting the University of Delaware Blue Hens after Delle Donne missed her family too much to play three states away for Geno Auriemma's UConn Huskies.
She fought while racking up records draining spells of Lyme Disease in her sophomore and senior years. As a junior, Delle Donne led the country in scoring, ending the season with an average of 28.1 points per game. She scored 42 points in a win over Hofstra, eclipsing the 2,000 point mark for her livelihood. During the 2012-2013 season, Delle Donne fought Lyme Disease, missing four matches. Delle Donne returned against Maryland on December 12 and led the team with 19 points and 6 rebounds in a 69 -53 loss. Delle scored more than 30 points on five occasions her senior year, leading the Blue Hens -3 regular season record, on to an NCAA berth.
He is also the only rookie to average at least 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Delle Donne has been injured more often, and has more humility than Jordan while, she and Jordan carry expectations and similar weights. And ESPN'm predicting, and Delle Donne some point, will forget her face in a WNBA Championship Trophy. Like this:
It might not be this season. But with the Sky, there is every chance they will make the playoffs. The Eastern Conference, like their NBA brothers, is up for grabs. With Delle Donne, within the last month of regular season play back, they may make a run for this.
